The Afghanistan National Basketball Team is a team designed by the National Basketball Association of Afghanistan. The ANT will be be picked every year by the NBAA-ANT coaching staff and then requires final approval by the NBAA executive board & NBAA General Secretary in Kabul.
Afghan National Team goes 2-3 in Taiwan's Hua Lien Kwen Fu Cup - International Invitational

The ANT 2007 went 2-3 in the Hua Lien Kwen Fu Cup International hosted by the small Taiwanese city of Hua Lien. The team was greeted with warm Taiwanese fans whom attempted to take pictures with the Afghan National Team at every opportunity.
NBAA rejuvenates basketball in Kabul Public Park 10/11/2007

The NBAA has begun and aggressive plan to rejuvenate basketball in Afghanistan beginning with Kabul city. The NBAA has purchased, installed, and replaced the basketball backboards in Shahr Naw Park, in Kabul city behind City Center near the Safi Landmark Hotel.

Today is a new dawn filled with a new light. This is a mark in Afghan basketball that will be catapult us Afghans to the future of the very system we made and began to build in 2002. Years and years of unity, commitment, honor, skill, athleticism and dedication is what marks the sign of a champion. All Afghan basketball players are champions in the eyes of the NBAA. The National Basketball Association of Afghanistan is a grassroots movement made for the very people who were here in the beginning and who will be here in the future the Afghan Youth.
The NBAA is the next step in Afghan Basketball and it will be the future cornerstone of athletics in Afghanistan and Afghans overseas one day. Today's Afghan youth is tomorrow's Afghan National Teams. The NBAA is here to teach good sportsmanship, honor, integrity, grit, and respect for our sport, for our nation, for our religion, and for our identity. The Afghan National Team made its international debut in Chantilly, Virginia at Hoops Magic Basketball Academy. The ANT was introduced to the crowd of 1500 Afghan American spectators on hand.
